Cloud and AI firm MegazoneCloud has signed a strategic reseller agreement with Portal26 to deliver the U.S. company's generative AI governance and security platform to enterprise clients across Korea. The partnership, formalized on September 28, centers on tackling unauthorized generative AI use, protecting sensitive data, establishing governance frameworks, and controlling AI-related expenses. Under the deal, MegazoneCloud will handle sales of Portal26's AI Adoption Management Platform and provide technical support, while the two companies develop governance and security solutions customized for Korean enterprise environments.

Portal26's AI Adoption Management Platform is built to detect, analyze, and manage generative AI activity spanning internal development setups, web-based AI tools employees access, and unauthorized shadow AI deployments. The system delivers visibility and control at both network and browser levels, letting organizations see exactly how generative AI is being used throughout their operations. The platform's prompt-level data loss prevention features can identify, mask, and block sensitive information users enter into generative AI tools, and it maintains AI usage records as audit trails for security reviews and incident investigations. The system can be deployed in roughly 30 minutes, allowing companies to gain insight into generative AI usage without lengthy implementation processes. Portal26's platform also enables organizations to track token usage and expenses by AI agent, organization, and team, helping prevent excessive consumption and surprise cost spikes while measuring AI adoption effectiveness based on real usage data.

"As generative AI becomes increasingly embedded across business operations, gaining real-time visibility into unauthorized AI usage and managing the risk of sensitive information leakage at the prompt level have emerged as critical new security challenges," said Doug Yeum, chief executive officer at MegazoneCloud. According to Yeum, the partnership will merge Portal26's AI visibility and data protection capabilities with MegazoneCloud's cloud, AI, and security expertise to help customers build governance frameworks around generative AI adoption. Arti Raman, chief executive officer of Portal26, said the collaboration aims to provide enterprises continuous visibility into AI usage across their organizations and establish security and governance around that activity.

MegazoneCloud plans to assist customers from deployment through day-to-day operations, drawing on its AI and cloud teams along with its HALO security division. The company said it will work with clients starting at the AI service design phase to create governance and security strategies tailored to their cloud setups and AI applications. Portal26 will supply the core platform and technical know-how, while the firms plan to team up on technical assistance, service improvements, and joint sales and marketing efforts throughout Korea. The partnership addresses several key areas the platform is designed to handle: visibility into generative AI and shadow AI usage, management of sensitive information and data security risks, stronger AI compliance and governance, and management of AI usage and costs. Enterprises adopting generative AI at scale now face a choice between moving fast and maintaining control—this agreement suggests Korean organizations are unwilling to sacrifice either. The real test will be whether governance tools can keep pace with employees' appetite for experimentation without becoming bottlenecks themselves.
